Hi, I’m Seth Deming and I’d like to let you know who I am and where I’ve come from. My journey into film began with a short film by Neill Blomkamp. I’ve always loved story, and after seeing this early film on the internet, I was bit by some sort of this-is-what-I-need-to-do bug. Quickly, I ditched all other creative pursuits and focus solely on film making. I met with filmmakers, and production studio owners and asked for guidance and advice. I read books. I took classes, and somewhere along the way I began making media that wasn’t terrible, it was in fact something I could be proud of. Other people seemed liked it too. Slowly but surely I began getting more and more work until it became the only work I do.
I believe that the work you do will inspire the work you’ll end up doing. So every frame I shoot, every piece I make has to be engaging, unexpected, and dramatic in some way. It should engage people in story. I care about what I do not only because I care about the people I work for, because it’s part of who I am. In a very real sense, it’s what I believe in.
